Rebuilding a heritage.

We would to take this opportunity to introduce to you Sri Saptharishishwarar, a Shiva temple located at Thiruthalayur in Tirichi district Tamilnadu,India. Sadly this ancient temple needs reconstruction, because it is sinking in the sand. We  have formed a Trust called Thiruthalayur Heritage Trust managed by Mr.D.Chandrasekar. It has an interesting history behind it and I just want to use this platform to create awareness to the group members and devotees at various places about this temple.

This is a link to the official website giving you more details about this temple, estimate cost and a few photos taken in the temple and work progress.

We have done the Balalayam at our Thiruthalaiyur Temple and have taken out all the idols along the peripheral wall from their respective places under the supervision of HR&CE officials.

We have received an estimate of Rs.2, 16, 99,850/-from M/s. Usha Constructions for completing this work and this estimate has been scrutinized and approved by Mr Jayaraman another Trust Member from Coimbatore and the work is in progress. We are in discussion with Mr.Arun Menon, of IIT Madras, to take care of the Engineering aspects.

Right now our biggest challenge is to collect the required money. We now need the support of all of you to take this subject forward. We will be taking the help of IIT Madras and the Stapathi from Coimbatore to do this work exactly as per the directions of the department with the conditions stipulated by archaeological survey officials.

I remember a lot of you have expressed your interest in supporting this restoration work in every possible way. I request all those who would like to support this please contact us using the Contact section of this website.

Thank you one and all.
